Now that we have the open tool chain updated to build Aspen applications (using the lower-level APIs), Saurik's found that it's relatively easy to build open tool chain apps using the Apple SDK, when used with my patched headers. This allows you to take advantage of the iPhone's lower level frameworks (which I've documented in my book), but using Apple's official tools. To do this, grab the modified headers here:

The Hacker in Me
I've been hacking since age 8 (I am now 32) and have come to develop very strong interests in machine learning, cellphone hacking, and any other geek-worthy hacker projects I come across. My first PC was a TRS-80 with a casette deck (no disk drives) and a whopping 128x48 B/W resolution. I recall bootlegging cheezy games from other TRS-80s in grade school, but consistently forgot about the lead track on the tape, and ended up with mostly worthless cassettes. My sister eventually paper mached the entire computer, rendering it completely unusable and also happened to void the warranty (read the fine print). Today I spend much of my hacker cycles developing on and maintaining several cool projects including DSPAM, an extremely accurate enterprise-grade spam filter. Най-добрите алтернативи на iPhone в България
Тъй като новият телефон на Apple ще стигне до Европа след месеци, решихме да подберем най-достойните му конкуренти, предлагани у нас и видяхме, че някои от тях не са по-лоши. България (пък и Европа) остава в страни от iPhone истерията и така е може би по-добре, защото ще имаме време да видим първите отзиви за телефона и едва после да решим, дали има смисъл да го купуваме или пък да потърсим нещо (защо не) по-добро. В интерес на истината в Щатите около него е създадена такава атмосфера, че много хора са готови да го купят, без много-много да се замислят и дори някои специалисти вече предупредиха, че свръхочакванията ще доведат до разочарования.
Вече обобщихме най-важните 11 причини да не харесваме iPhone в България (PC World).
За да не се стига до такава ситуация, ние се опитахме до подберем най-добрите конкуренти на iPhone на нашия пазар и установихме нещо интересно – повечето от тях имат дори повече и по-интересни функции, а уникалните неща при iPhone въобще не е сигурно, че ще са успешни. Преди всичко това е сензорната клавиатура, но има и други. Някои от нашите съображения вече споделихме.
HTC Touch има голям екран като iPhone, но използва Windows Mobile вместо Mac OS X. Nokia N95 е миникомпютър, който има дори и GPS модул, отличен 5 Мр фотоапарат и доста други полезни функции, но струва скъпичко. BlackBerry Curve, предпочитан от много бизнесмени, има фотоапарат и добре работи с мултимедийни файлове, а е известен преди всичко с удобната си работа с електронната поща. Samsung Upstage пък е за не толкова претенциозните и е доста изгоден за всички, които искат дори да записват видео и да имат GPS.
Разбира се, има и много други телефони, но не може всички да включим. LG Prada, например, също разчита на минималистичен дизайна като iPhone и най-вероятно ще има успех на нашия пазар. Treo 750 също е нов модел и е типичен смартфон. Nokia N95. BlackBerry Curve. HP iPAQ 514.
